Wow - did we have a busy weekend! Memie(Emily, my 10 yr old niece) graduated from Elementary School and Azzie(Alison, my 16 yr old niece) had her Sweet 16 b-day party - yes, all in one weekend! On Friday, we got to attend Emily's graduation and on Saturday, Azzie's Sweet 16 party (and a little midnight tornado scare as well)!
Happy Sweet 16 - Azzie!!
Emma Grace got the dancing started!

Our family! We were chaperones and boy did it make us feel old! We hardly knew any of the music the DJ was playing!

Congrats Memie!! We love you!
The weekend wouldn't have been complete without Memie thinking up some type of contraption for Papa to build. She and Papa built this sled so she and her sister could be pulled around the back yard. Of course Memie got a few "battle wounds" from the falls off the sled! Which was probably her intention in the first place. You gotta love the mind of a kid!
Even after a busy fun filled weekend, I got a special message from my baby girl. As we were lying in bed, late Saturday night talking about our day, I asked Emma Grace, as I do each night, did she know what tomorrow was. To my surprise, her reply was "It's mommy's special day", "Happy mother's day, mommy". It brings tears to my eyes now. My baby girl - growing up. I told Emma Grace it was mommy's special day because she was in my life! How true it is! Randy had been talking to Emma Grace about celebrating me the next day. What a lucky girl I am to have such a wonderful family! And might I add a pretty special mom myself! Emma Grace couldn't understand that my special day was GG's special day too!
