I watched Emma Grace at dance class last week. It was so cute. She is like a head smaller than all the other girls but she holds her own. I have no idea why EG has red eyes in each photo??? Check out her Indian outfit from school. She was named "Shinning Star".

My girls
I am posting some random shots of the girls. Can you believe it, Mia Kate is 1 month old! Gosh, time flies. She is doing well as well as big sister Emma Grace. She is sleeping more at night which is a relief to me. Most nights I am only up once - probably be up all night tonight, he he!

Yea Alabama Crimson Tide!
Turkey Day!
We had a great Turkey Day this year. Emma Grace was totally into helping me cook. Tonya and Abbie came up for the week. Not only did we get to celebrate Thanksgiving, we celebrated Mia's first holiday!
I am so thankful for the wonderful family I have. My two healthy beautiful girls and my awesome husband, who is such a great daddy! Each minute I see him with the girls makes me love him more!
On a side note, I am also VERY THANKFUL for our home in TN selling! It closed last week, and although it closed a very happy chapter in my life (which saddens me), it also relieved us of double house payments!

Random Shots
Just some random shots of my girls. I am so with Rebecca on trying to get shots of both girls at the same time. You would think it would be so easy - but no such thing!

Random shots of story time last night. Normally each of us take a girl to bed. Last night, Mia wasn't tired yet, so we all crawled in EG's bed and listened to her goodnight story and prayer. It was sweet, makes me so happy that they have one another!

This is Emma Grace in her first ever outfit she picked out. We got it at gymboree while at the beach this summer, but hadn't gotten to wear it yet. She was so excited that mommy let her wear it to school. She loves the big girl vest.

Welcome Home Emma Grace!
My big girl is home and loving her new baby sister! Emma Grace finally returned home on Tuesday for almost a 2 week vacation in Alabama. Gosh, did I miss her so much. Randy and I enjoyed our time with Mia but I was beginning to think I would have PP depression from missing my EG. Emma Grace had a great time with GG & Papa. (And Azzie & Memie, Aunt Rhonda and Cousin Jake). She was totally spoiled and has already told me she thinks she is going back to Alabama soon. My mom came back with her for a week. Randy and I have really enjoyed and appreciated her help. We are having great meals and my house is cleaner than it has ever been.
Mia went back to the doctor today(Friday). She weighed 7 lbs 5 ounces! I was so surprised, she has was only 6 lbs 10 ounces last Friday. I guess she is eating more than I think. She is still enjoying nourishment from me but I have started one 2-ounce bottle a day. I was so tired and really want to be able to leave the house! She does great with both, so for now we are on combo.
Enjoy the pics of Emma Grace and Mia Kate getting acquainted with one another. It is so sweet already- Mia hears her voice and immediately starts looking for her. And of course Emma Grace is in her face 24/7.

Mia Kate Dunavant
ok, so I just got out of the shower in this pic, so my hair is nice and wet, but they came to get me to say I could hold her for the first time, and really did Mia Kate know I looked liked this???
So this is me the morning of the C-section fixing Emma Grace's hair for school. Just wanted you all to see my BIG BELLY - literally I look like I am about to drop a basket ball out from under my shirt.
Well.. She's here and has a name! We have quite a week. I think we have probably felt every emotion possible this week! Let me start with Elated!!!
Mia Kate Dunavant has born on Monday, October 27th at 12:11 PM. She weighed 7lbs, 3oz (the same as EG). 21 1/4 inches long! I told you guys she was gonna be long! She is perfect in every aspect. The minute Randy and I saw her, we knew she was a Mia. For you that don't know, Mia comes from my brother, Micheal. We searced for girl names that come from Micheal and this is what we came up with. Although I knew this is what I really wanted to name her, I really wanted to see her first. I wanted to make sure she looked like a Mia not an Ally. And, yes Emma Grace is calling her Mia Kate! She hasn't even mentioned Ally at all.
Well, although Mia is perfect now, she had a tuff start. She had fluid on her lungs when she was born therefore her oxygen levels were off. Basically she couldn't breathe well with out the help of her "oxygen tent". Her respiration rate was also way high (in the 100s, should be 40-70). So, she had to stay in the nursery until Thursday. Her oxygen levels were fine on Wednesday but due to her respiration rate, she had to have an IV port for sugar water and a feeding tube for milk! WOW- I am so shocked to come in from recovery and find out I couldn't even see my baby. After about 2 hours in my room, I asked to be taken to her. At this point, 3 hours post -op I couldn't really walk so I took the wheel-chair. I couldn't hold her but did get to touch her and talk to her! Later that night, I got up and actually walked to the nursery, which I did every couple of hours throughout the day and nights. By Tuesday afternnon, I got to hold Mia in my arms. She was still connected but could come out of the tent for short periods. Poor Emma Grace kept asking "why she couldn't hold her". So, my sweet nurses let me take her right outside the door to let EG touch her for the first time. She was a little hesitant b/c she has an IV port and tube coming from her nose. But, nonetheless she had met her baby sister for the first time! On Wednesday, she came to my room for short periods with a nurse. On Thurday, the little sweetie made a come around and was released to my room! We all got to hold her, I got to feed her and she was free from all contraptions. She is perfect - We are all recouping well and settling into being at home. Emma Grace went to Alabama on Thursday and is having the time of her life! Randy is recovering from a cold and I am just basting in the happiness my two girls bring to my life. As well as my sweet hubby. By the way, the C-section was great!! I am not regulated on my blood thinners yet but hopefully this week I will be shot free!
