Busy Week.....

We have had a busy week at the Dunavant house. We started the week with Emma Grace being sick again. Thank Goodness for Dr. Hardy. Since she was scheduled for surgery on Friday, he called in an antibiotic without an office visit! So, we missed a day or two of school, missed dance but we made it. This is a picture of my sweet sick girl!

Since we are heading to Alabama tomorrow, we decided to do Christmas with our family on Saturday morning. We weren't sure how Emma Grace would feel, but to our surprise, with the help of pain meds, she felt great and ready to see what Santa had left! Enjoy our journey through the past week...

So, on Wednesday night we decided to start letting the girls open their gifts. Of course, Emma Grace was very excited!

The first gift of Christmas at the Dunavant house - Super Why Game!

Mia not so happy about being told she needed to sit down!

On Thursday, while Mia was napping, Emma Grace and I made reindeer cookies!

Getting ready to open more presents on Thursday night. Emma Grace asked all day to open 2 more gifts!

On Friday morning, we got up at 5:15 to be at the surgical center at 6 am. Of course we did alot of waiting around but Emma Grace was a trooper.
This picture is after her surgery. We had been waiting for her to wake up for about an hour (in the waiting room). So happy to see how well she was doing - very tired and ready to go home!

The pictures got reversed. This is before. Waiting and watching TV.

Friday night was Christmas Eve at our house. Really, we just told EG that Santa was coming a little early to bring her and sissy their big gifts. She is getting Santa's cookies and milk ready, and of course carrots for the reindeer. Yes, this is 8 hours after surgery. She came home took a 5 hour nap. this was in between the nap and bed time, which was only about 3 hours. She was one tired girl.

They ate all their treats!

At 7:45 Emma Grace came into our room and announced Santa had already came! We had to make her wait until about 8:30 for Mia to wake up.

Their stools that go with EG's new desk. I love them.

Mia with her new ball pit. She was so excited and started yelling, "Bal, Bal" but once she got down, she wasn't too sure. Now, a day later, she loves it.

Emma Grace just saw her desk. EXCITED!!!!

Enjoying her desk/art table

playtime in the ball pit!
So now on Sunday, Emma Grace is feeling good, we have our bags packed and fly to Alabama fist thing in the AM! Just in time to do it all over again. Seriously my girls are going to get addicted to having Santa twice:) Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas.

Santa Hat

Emma Grace picked out her and Mia glitterly santa hats. She has loved it, Mia however isn't too fond of things on her head. Just some cute shots of them showing them off, or tearing them off in some cases :0)

Failed Christmas Card Attempts

I am sure we are not the only ones who have taken thousands of pictures of the girls in the last weeks and gotten way more bloopers than actually card material pictures. So, just wanted to share we you a few. Thought I might send you all a little Christmas cheer via humor:)

don't you love the long face from Mia. She doesn't like the camera at all - she laughs and smiles all day but you pull the camera out and is going to frown:(

This day she refused to lose the paci or"mammy" as she calls it!

Yes, Mia fell off the back of her seat! No worries she thought it was great and did it probably 10 more times immediately following this one:)

School Christmas Performance

don't you love the micheal jackson glove effect? This is the class signing "He is Lord"!
And below, jingle bells!

Emma Grace's Christmas performance was today at school. It was cute, complete with singing carols and signing "He is Lord". Lots of proud mommas and daddies today:) Even some proud little sisters. Mia was so proud, she sat quietly in her stroller and enjoyed the show = which in turn equals a proud momma of two today!

Nutcracker

Emma Grace and I went to the Wilmington Ballet's Nutcracker on Saturday night with Stephanie and Kailey. The girls did great and loved it!

Polar Express & Wilmington Parade

On Sunday of this past weekend we went to the Wilmington Train Museum for a Polar Express Reading and visit from Mr. C. The girls wore their pajamas (Emma Grace's choice of Candy Cane ones). Mr. C gave them each a bell and a special gift, Hot Chocolate and Candy!

Mia not listening to the story - imagine that??

The girls before we left, attempting to get a cute one with them both looking and smiling. Mia refused to lose the paci.
Emma Grace listened intently to the story. She can now pretty much recite this story, word or word. Her favorite holiday story by far :)

EG and Colton with their golden tickets, bells and candy bags.

Mia not liking Santa. hehe

Mia not excited that Santa had arrived.

At the Wilmington Christmas Parade. This was right after the Polar Express, and both of the girls loved it. We didn't stay for the whole thing because we had a Christmas party to attend but it wasn't too cold and quite entertaining :)

Santa Visit at Waterford & Gingerbread House

Santa came to visit our neighborhood this past weekend. There was a little party up at the clubhouse with Santa, crafts and cookies. Emma Grace loved it, Mia not so much. She screamed the minute Randy walked in the door with her and she spotted Santa:(

Emma Grace beggged and begged to do her Gingerbread house last week, so I broke it out during nap time. She had a great time and did a pretty good job. She did however enjoy eating the icing and candy the most. I think next year I will just buy icing and candy.

I found the cutest Gingerbread Apron to give her for the decoration, she loved it.

Turkey Day

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. We are thankful for my parents and nieces making the long trip. We enjoyed having them here and my girls enjoyed all the playtime!!
Emma Grace decorated the table with turkeys and name plates. She did a great job! She even decided where everyone would sit.

The nieces playing after Thanksgiving lunch. of course, Mia wasn't interested in sitting still for a photo and Emma Grace had to have a dress up on :_
