8 months

Mia is 8 months old - time is flying by. Here are a few pictures showing how are days are now spent...

It's offical.. she's crawling... everywhere!

Sister Love - Yes, my two sissy's still have unconditional love for one another.

Mia loves playing in the fountains at the pool.

If you look close in this one you can see her two bottom teeth. I swear she is going to get a top one anyday now.

Mia can pull up on pretty much anything she can reach!! Can you say BABY PROOFING the house needs to begin!!

Emma Grace still playing princess polly pockets all day!

Yes, my girls are in their PJs. Sunday morning we got up and walked to turtle pond with the girls in their PJs and had breakfast and then feed the fish and turtles.

Daddy's Day!!

Happy Daddy's Day, Randy! What a wonderful daddy you are to your two baby girls! May they always appreciate your "unconditional" love and rough and tough play time. Thank you for the daddy that you are! Emma Grace says to tell you that she loves you THIRTY!!!

Emma Grace showing off her new haircut! I love it, she stills wants it to grow long, like a princess!

Mia and Emma Grace and their ninees. The book I spoke of earlier also says that the big sissy will give the little sis her ninee in case she is scared to sleep in her room alone. Well... Emma Grace said she wouldn't share but got Mia one of her on! LOL, and yes, Mia loves her ninee just as much as big sissy does!

Shots of the girls

When Mia was born, Emma Grace gave her a book, Welcome to the world, Baby. It's a great sister book. It's talks about all the things big sissy is going to teach little sis to do. Well, one of things, is making drip castles. Long story, short, Emma Grace taught Mia all about Drip Castles. So sweet.

Emma Grace with her finished Drip Castles, (after it had been smashed a couple of times)

Mia escaped and was quite upset when she face planted it in the sand a few minutes later. I think she relized it was quite hard to crawl in the sand!

Really, someone please push PAUSE!

OK, enough of my baby girl growing up!! This morning after Mia's morning nap she was in her bed playing(atleast that's what we thought). All of a sudden I glanced over at the video monitor and could no longer see her so I went in to check. When I opened the door she was on her knees chewing on the rail. As I walked in to her room, guess what... she poped right up on her feet. Needless to say, Randy moved the crib down a level this afternoon.. I can't believe how fast she is growing up.

This was 2 days ago, when she crawled two arms. I don't know how to say this other than she moved forward with her arms and legs two moves. She hasn't gotten past this point and I am good with it! She has been moving backwards and sideways for a week or two but out of the blue... so, as you can see my baby is literally doing new things by the day. Please Mia...slow down and let mommy savor the moment!!And by the way, I forgot to add that 2 weeks ago when we went to DC, we changed her from the infant seat to the Britax and she got her two bottom teeth!! Whew....

UNCW Swim Lessons

We finished up Emma Grace's 2 week swim lessons at UNCW on Friday! What a change she made this week from last week. We missed the first day b/c we were in Washington and the next 3 Emma Grace whinned. But on Friday of the first week she become in "love" with swim lessons. Once she found out they would move from the cold pool (lap pool) to the warm pool (diving pool)toward the end of each lessons, she was ready! By the middle of the second week she was even jumping off the "high dive"! Wow - what a big girl she was. On the other hand, Mia and I endured the 100 degree heat (litterally, they kept it so hot in there!) to cheer her on everyay!

pencil jump for the platform. I didn't get a picture of the low or high dive but I did get video I'll try to post.

Black float

Swimming w/o her bubble! Go Emma Grace

Waiting to jump again. She wanted to jump over and over and would constantly cut in front of the kids who didn't want to go.

More swimming w/o her bubble!

Can someone please push PAUSE... quickly!!

So, this is what Emma Grace and I found when we walked into Mia's room this morning...

She had gotten into the sitting position by herself. She has been trying for a couple of days and of course I miss it. Why wasn't I watching her on the monitor????

Then, to the table for breakfast and Emma Grace totally jumps up into my chair. I say, "What are you doing" and she tells me that she isn't going to sit in her booster.

So this may all seem trivial to some of you, but come on, what an emotional morning. I don't want my girls to grow up. I said to Emma Grace "Could you and Mia just stay the way you are today forever???" Her response to me, "Only if you can Mommy!". If only I could push PAUSE.

So, come on.. SOMEBODY, push PAUSE and let me savor the moment a little while longer!

Happy Birthday Ran!

We celebrated Randy's 33rd birthday a couple of weeks ago. Emma Grace was so excited. We went to Party City and she picked out "Pirate theme" birthday. We made him his favorite yellow cake with chocolate icing. Happy Birthday Randy! We love you!
